Momentum for Australia hosts the annual Men in Black Ball for Perth’s social elite in support of men’s mental health and suicide prevention. As Pan Pacific Perth’s in-house AV services provider, Encore Event Technologies were tasked with creating a sophisticated, classy set design to complement the event’s 11th year anniversary.
The “world’s most mysterious spirit”, Moutai China, launched in Australia with a star-studded gala dinner at Sydney Town Hall on 30 May. Over 500 distinguished guests gathered to celebrate 46 years since the culturally significant spirit, traditionally used as a toast for special occasions in China, was imported to Australia.
Encore (then Staging Connections) created a lavish, end-to-end experience that celebrated Sydney with a Chinese flair, bringing to life the theme “Let the world fall in love with Moutai, let Moutai go to the world” by emerging guests in a Moutai China cultural experience intertwining the brand’s 2,000-year history throughout the event.
The highlight of the evening was an electrifying unveiling of a special Australian label of the spirit to mark the occasion. Ten VIP guests were invited to the stage to activate the unique lighting display counting down to the reveal of the new Sydney limited edition bottle.
A custom made, suspended 20m x 5m holographic screen complimented the content across the two borderless screens, showcasing the brands history and highlighting the cultural significance of the occasion.
Moutai has separate labels for every province in China, and for the first time, an Australiana-themed label has been added to the archives. Vintage labels were exhibited in the “museum” cocktail space at the event, welcoming guests to preview the brand’s story and deep history in Chinese culture with a pre-dinner drink.
A separate, interactive space under the eastern gallery of Sydney Town Hall was designed with touch screens and pillar-wrapped graphics for guests to further immerse themselves in China’s national spirit brand.
The gala dinner was complemented by signature entertainment by the Moutai China Group, as well as a traditional Aboriginal dance. This was topped off by a powerful operatic performance by soprano Emily Anne Garth, who sang in both Australian and Chinese, a true merger of the two cultures.
Encore were responsible for all aspects of the evening, from technical delivery design, creative and digital delivery right through to the luxurious red and gold themed décor throughout the venue. Tables were adorned in traditional gold linen with stunning centrepieces and complementary red floral displays.
John Schryver, Encore Director, Special Events, said the Sydney team came together to produce a spectacular event that transfixed delegates.
“The event was an incredible success. Showcasing a new product is so effective when given the opportunity to present an entire sensory experience using technology to educate and excite guests.”
Mocha Du, representing Moutai China, said the event was a great success.
“We could not be happier with the result. Our VIPs and delegation were enthralled by every aspect of the event and really engaged with our message.”
Cievents engaged Encore Event Technologies to deliver the technology solution for this year’s Flight Centre Ball. Encore delivered a high-impact experience using a creative AV and lighting design featuring our new Kinetic Lights.
Over 1500 guests attended the annual event and were welcomed at Luna Park’s Big Top by a visual feast of dynamic and colourful lighting, using Encore’s latest Kinetic Lights which appeared as kaleidoscopic “dancing” spheres suspended from the ceiling as guests were absorbed in the carnival atmosphere. Hexagonal panels were configured in a dynamic formation and dramatic content projected as the backdrop for the stage performances. Six supersized-screens also projected with custom designed visual content to create a cohesive visual experience for the stunning event.
Jonathan Leggett, from cievents, says the production team are ecstatic with the night,
“We trust Encore to understand our brief and deliver seamless technology every time. We are constantly impressed with what the Encore team bring to the table.”
Consult Australia held their annual Awards for Excellence at the Park Hyatt Melbourne on Wednesday 10 October 2018. The gala dinner was a spectacular experience for the 250 guests in attendance.
Guests were invited to a night at the circus where they were transported back in time to the late 1800’s to relive the Circus in its prime. Encore Event Technologies, in-house event production and technology provider at Park Hyatt Melbourne delivered all aspects of the event.
Mark Rock, Marketing Manager at Consult Australia commented,
‘We were very pleased with how this year’s Annual Awards for Excellence went. The Circus theming was extremely striking and the feedback on both the look and feel of the room was overwhelmingly positive.”
The event was truly a carnival for the senses creating an unforgettable experience for all.
The rugged beauty of Australia made the perfect backdrop for this years Family Business Australia (FBA) 20th National Conference. Hosted in Alice Springs from 9-12 September, the conference brought nearly 400 FBA members to the Red Centre to participate in the 4 day event.
Encore were engaged to produce the events, supplying all audio, lighting and projection for the whole convention, which included a conference held at the Alice Springs Convention Centre, numerous key-note speaker sessions, master classes and workshops that ran simultaneously, plus a number of social events throughout the region.
At the first outdoor dinner, at Telegraph Station, Encore constructed a giant custom-made projection screen, allowing award winner images and videos to be projected from 30m away while maintaining perfect visual quality. This delivered an engaging experience and created an emotive sense of pride for the winners. This gave the client’s content of award winner video stings and slides an impressively large canvas.
The final evening of the conference ended in style with an event at the Old Quarry. Surrounded by walls of red rock, guests were treated to a performance by Tommy Crowe, who played his didgeridoo on a ledge overlooking the crowd before the live band got delegates dancing under the stars. Encore created an immersive atmosphere for Tommy’s performance by dramatically lighting the rock behind him creating a glowing silhouette on the quarry.
The spectacular experience concluded after Tommy’s performance with him painting contemporary aboriginal art in his unique style on a large canvas. Encore filmed Tommy painting and projected his work onto the rock wall in real time, which gave the illusion of the painting being created directly onto the cliff.
Danielle Ricato, National Events and Sponsorship Manager, Family Business Australia was thrilled with Encore’s work.
“I don’t even know where to start when talking about this event, it was sheer perfection, from start to finish. “There were so many moving parts to this event, and I am in awe of the enormous amounts of work that went into making this all look effortless!” said Ms. Ricato.
Encore transformed the Ballroom at InterContinental Adelaide into a lush Enchanted Forest for the Fight Cancer Foundation’s fourth annual Red Ball Adelaide held on Saturday 1 June. The gala gave Encore’s styling & design team in Adelaide a chance to flex their creative muscles, not leaving a stone in the ballroom unstyled, so to speak. After guests journeyed down the red carpet they were greeted with a beautiful fern-covered archway with decadent gold plinths and spiral topiary plants either side. This was the first clue as to the kind of evening they had instore. Once they entered what used to be a room, the guests were dazzled by the glowing fairy lights, chandelier-filled ceiling and lush greenery all around the room. The stage backdrop was styled beautifully using an array or mirrors, chandeliers and gold mirror frames floating against a tall planter wall. Tables were styled with alternate centrepieces; a mixture of gold twisted willow trees decorated with glass ornaments and tangled in fairy lights with the other being styled a large arrangement of fresh ferns by Botanic Poetry with red beads at the bottom of each vase to incorporate the Fight Cancer Foundation’s colour red.
Encore projected the night’s content onto two 13ft screens flanking either side of the main stage and used the InterContinental Adelaide’s Mh5 Moving Head pin spots to cast beautiful coloured lights and patterns around the room. The enchanted evening was hosted by Adam Giles and included a special performance from Glenn Shorrock. The gala was a huge success, raising more than $116,000 to support South Australian children living with cancer!
“I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Encore again….. particularly this year and would have no hesitation in working with you again if circumstances permit and to recommend you both.
I have had so many wonderful comments about the event….so thank you again for working with me to make it such a success.” Jennifer Carnell, Fundraising Coordinator South Australia, Fight Cancer Foundation
